Changelog
What's new in Leyline — release by release.
v1.21.0
- New
Get a price before you have a project: answer a few questions on the quote page, attach a script or storyboard, and a producer replies with a price range
No account needed. Films / series and commercials each get their own questions, and the quote arrives by email.
- New
Accept a quote and turn it into your project in one click, with the brief already filled in and ready for private dispatch
- Fixed
Bidding, joining the waitlist and browsing creator pages no longer fail with "too many requests" during busy periods
v1.20.0
- Improved
After paying the deposit, the dispatch window now shows "Done" — nothing left to submit
v1.19.0
- Fixed
Shots with multi-speaker dialogue no longer crash the storyboard page
- Fixed
Shared public project links now preview with the project own title and poster
v1.18.0
- New
Lip sync now works with audio you upload yourself
In Render's Dialogue & Lip Sync card, choose "Upload your own audio" to lip-sync a shot to your recording, or use it only as the shot's dialogue track (no credits charged). Lip sync is now priced by the seconds of video it produces, and the card shows the price for the shot before you run it; long shots cost more than before. Kling lip sync only accepts shots of 2–10 seconds.
- Fixed
Negative prompts now actually reach more video models
Previously only Veo received your negative prompt. Models that support it, such as Kling and Wan, now receive it; Seedance and Kling Omni turn it into a constraint sentence (it lowers the chance, not a guarantee); unsupported models show the field disabled with the reason. Pickup shots work the same way. Shot-list CSVs gain a "Negative Prompt" column for per-shot defaults.
- Improved
Authorize the deposit as you submit a job, and see whether it went through
The dispatch dialog now takes you straight to Stripe to authorize the deposit. When you come back, the dialog shows whether the authorization is pending, succeeded, or unfinished. A job goes to review and gets listed only after the deposit hold succeeds.
- Improved
Jobs whose deposit is still unauthorized after 30 days are withdrawn automatically, and you are notified
The project goes back to draft, you get an inbox message and an email, and you can dispatch it again at any time.
- Improved
Artists can see delivery progress and payout status on the task page and in My Bids
Once delivery is finished, the task page stops offering uploads and keeps your submitted versions read-only.
- New
Artists can add PayPal, Wise or bank transfer details in Payout Settings
v1.17.0
- New
If your bid is unlikely to be accepted, our team can send you a suggested price — by email and in-app, and shown on the project page
- Fixed
Deposit payment reminders are no longer sent twice
- Improved
Admins can now see why a bid is not yet visible to the client, and how far off the price is
v1.16.0
- New
A new bell in the top right tells you when your bids, deliveries, reviews, payments and payouts move
- Improved
Payments now lists your newest project first, and the hold notice says what is left before it goes public
v1.15.1
- Improved
After posting a public job, you go straight to authorising the deposit — no need to wait for a reminder email
- Fixed
Bid notification emails now match your inbox — every bid an email mentions is one you can find there
- Fixed
Uploading a bid demo that has sound but no picture is now flagged right away, instead of sitting on "watermark in progress"
v1.15.0
- Fixed
Opening a project shared with you from the Tasks page now brings it to the top and highlights it
- Fixed
The home page no longer flashes an empty project list while it loads
- Fixed
Shared projects show “Can edit / View only” in your language; the search box no longer shows two clear buttons or gets covered by project cards
v1.14.0
- Fixed
After you hire an artist, review each delivered version right from your inbox — and get an email when a new one lands
- Fixed
Long dialogs now scroll on smaller screens, and the Dispatch button always stays in view
- Improved
Dispatch now defaults to public bidding; in-house production is paused for new projects (coming soon) — projects already underway continue as usual
v1.13.1
- Fixed
When Seedance video generation is temporarily unavailable upstream, you now see a clear message instead of a raw provider error

A refund the bank sends back is now caught and handed to a human

- Fixed
The marketplace now opens straight away without signing in — no more loading spinner
v1.9.0

- Improved
Every marketplace page now has a navigation bar — return to your project after paying, and reach your inbox without digging up an email
- Fixed

v1.8.0
- New
Reach the marketplace from the top bar, not just from a link someone sent you
- Fixed
www and non-www no longer keep two separate sign-ins

v1.7.0

Every cohort we run is now on the homepage — dates, price, and whether it is open
- New
The Microdrama Writing Cohort has its own page — sign up for the free 24 September workshop
- New
New AI Commercials page — three sessions from October, register your interest now
- Fixed
Links to Leyline now unfurl with a preview card instead of a blank space
- Improved
The cohort waitlist no longer names one specific cohort — leave your email and we write when the next one opens
v1.4.2
- Fixed
Projects with only background music now export the music AND the per-shot dialogue
These exports used to keep the music but drop every dialogue line, with a notice asking you to convert the music into a timeline clip first. That step is gone.
v1.4.0
- Fixed
The dialogue you generate for each shot now actually reaches your exported video
Until now those lines only played back in the editor and were dropped on export, with nothing to tell you. Re-export an existing project to get them.
- Fixed
Mixing several audio tracks no longer makes the whole video quieter
Loudness no longer drops as you add tracks, and the pumping that came with it is gone.
- Fixed
The "generate audio" switch is now only offered for models that really produce sound
Some models advertised audio but delivered silent clips. The switch is now driven by per-model evidence instead of an assumption about the vendor.
v1.3.0
- Fixed
Downloading a finished video no longer fails part-way, and there's a smaller resumable copy
